For its 2023 Retail Services Leadership Event, Nationwide turned to us. The annual event brings together the entire Nationwide Retail Services network – that’s 850 people – and has been a regular feature of the bank’s calendar for some time. This year, though, the day-long conference would look a little different. Moving the event from its usual Stoneleigh to NEC Birmingham was our first curveball, but we caught it with style.
With the theme 'More Passion, More Energy,' we turned the conference into a carnival of banking brilliance, while keeping Nationwide’s key message – ‘Banking - but fairer, more rewarding, and for the good of society’ – at the heart of everything we delivered.
We transformed the NEC into something uniquely Nationwide. A theatre-style setup with a commanding stage and angled screens enhanced engagement, while a vibrant exhibition area showcased 14 stands featuring everything from volunteer initiatives and campaigns to new uniform unveilings, highlights from different business areas and more. In the afternoon, we played with curtains (and headphones) like the ultimate event magicians, creating breakout sessions that felt private even in a large space.
We didn't just stop at logistics; we flexed our creative muscles too. Our expert team delivered impactful videos and a live edit of the event, they made sure everyone had somewhere convenient to stay the night before and the evening of the event, and they kept the show running to perfect time and the highest quality.
We ensured the event was not only memorable but also a resounding success. This event marked the launch of a rebrand, so it was important to create positivity in the room and beyond it. We did just that and Nationwide couldn’t have been happier.
