EE Live The Big Broadcast

In 2023, EE and DRPG shook up the typical live event format with a fresh, multi-layered approach that combined a film, a roadshow, and an awards ceremony. It was a hit, and EE decided it was time to amp up the excitement even further. The challenge was to inject the high-energy vibe of a live show into their broadcast while keeping the narrative strengths of their film format.

So, how did we tackle it? We decided to bring storytelling and interactivity to the forefront, crafting an event that felt both live and personal. We envisioned a broadcast where the event itself was a story—a story that resonated deeply with EE’s culture and the everyday experiences of its staff.

Inspired by the lively spirit of ‘The Big Breakfast,’ our approach was all about creating an experience that was as engaging as it was entertaining. We mixed high-energy, interactive segments with pre-recorded film content, blending live broadcast excitement with compelling storytelling.

We kicked things off with a dynamic format: the show started with a welcome segment and an introduction, followed by a film that showcased EE’s journey and achievements. We spiced things up with a game show-style review of key stats and successes, and then dived into discussions on future ambitions, marketing strategies, and customer feedback.

What made this broadcast truly special was the involvement of EE’s own team members—fondly referred to as Founders. They didn’t just watch from the sidelines; they took on key roles in the broadcast, from presenters to behind-the-scenes crew. This grassroots approach created a sense of ownership and connection that truly resonated with everyone.

The broadcast wasn’t just about watching; it was about participating. We combined 24 pre-recorded films with live segments to keep the experience fresh and spontaneous. Rylan Clark hosted the show, bridging the gap between these segments with his charismatic flair.

To capture the essence of the creative process and the passion that went into making "The Big Broadcast" a success, we’ve put together a behind-the-scenes video featuring DRPG team members sharing their insights. From brainstorming sessions to on-set magic, the video dives deep into the collaboration, creativity, and challenges that shaped the final experience. It’s a genuine look at the people and ideas that brought EE Live to life.
