drpvideo Wins ‘Best Use of Video’ at CorpComms Awards 2016
The annual CorpComms Awards, which is now in its eleventh year, identifies excellence in in-house communications, and this year drpvideo won 'Best Use of Video' for their film Pull Through. This film was also shortlisted for the 'Best Communications by a Public Sector Organisation' award. Held at the The Troxy in London, 23rd November, over 500 top industry professionals from the world of corporate communications were in attendance at the ceremony.
drpvideo collaborated with West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) to produce poignant film Pull Through. Shot at Stourport Boat Club in Worcestershire, with club members as extras, the short documentary re-created the moment that Rowing Club member, Ian Hough, suffered a cardiac arrest during the annual regatta, showing how the presence of a defibrillator on site saved his life. The film and its message formed the core of a wider PR and Marketing campaign by WMAS to encourage sports clubs around the country to introduce defibrillators as part of their first aid equipment.
Pull Through was of course extremely close to our hearts, and we felt proud to be able to help WMAS’ invaluable campaign.
Pull Through instantly made an impact, attracting coverage on several national press and media outlets including Sky News and BBC Midlands Today on campaign day and beyond.
Director of drpvideo, Dagmar Mackett, commented: “Pull Through was of course extremely close to our hearts, and we felt proud to be able to help WMAS’ invaluable campaign. We knew the film was very good but didn’t quite expect the huge impact it had. To be recognised at the CorpComms Awards like this, to win in one of two very prestigious categories, is absolutely amazing, and well deserved for the team.”
