drp CEO Dale Parmenter Cycles for Charity ‘Meeting Needs’
This year the drpteam will be joining event industry professionals for two major fundraising events, raising money for the industry’s charity Meeting Needs. Dale Parmenter, group CEO, will be taking on the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 Peloton Relay in July, and Suzie Blundell, Project Manager, and Matt Evans, Lead UX Designer, and will be completing the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October.
For the 100 mile cycling course from London to Surrey, Dale will be joined by Event Marketing Association chair Richard Waddington, Jack Morton Worldwide’s Jim Donald, and Glenn Boulton of The Production Exchange. All four team members have committed to raising £500 each for the charity by completing sections of the course ranging from 25 miles to the entire 100 miles.
We are proud to be Charity Partners with Meeting Needs, and this year we want to continue to raise as much money as we can for the charity.
Suzie and Matt are also dedicated to raising £500 each for the Royal Parks Half Marathon, which will include a 13.1 mile course around London’s Royal Parks. The route has not yet been finalised, but typically it goes through four of the eight royal parks – Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James’s Park and Green Park. The race attracts around 16,000 runners each year and is a unique opportunity to run unimpeded around the parks. There is a great festival atmosphere in the park during the race, and as a fundraising event it has raised over £25m for assorted charities since it began in 2008.
