drp Summer Conference

The entire drpteam came together on Monday 14th July for our summer conference, held at Silverstone, the home of British motorsport. It was a perfect opportunity for the whole business to look back at the year so far and for each of the divisions to interact and take into account business achievements.  The theme for this year’s conference was “Best for Business”. Presentations were mainly lead by group managing director Dale Parmenter with support from our board members and senior management team.

The day focused on future plans and the drpgroup vision, taking time to look at the 5 year business plan which aims to double the size of our business in the next 5 years. There were many elements to the day including speed dating with board members and managers where each division or business area had the chance to learn more about the functions of their fellow divisions. This led into a session on improving business efficiencies; uncovering actions that could be taken straight away that would have no impact on quality or delivery for clients.

The conference helps to re-energise the team and give us a better understanding of what direction the business is heading in as Dale explains; “summer conference comes at the best time of year for us to reflect on how the business is doing. Prior to the conference, we engage with the team to find out what they want to hear and this helps to shape the content and agenda for the conference. The team is the most important part of the drpgroup and it is essential we keep them up to date with the latest news and business, providing clear insight into the vital part they have to play in a successful future for the group.”

The last part of the day saw the drpteam take part in some team building activities involving a F1 pit stop challenge. This saw the team changing the wheels of a formula 1 car in small groups and attempting to achieve the fastest time. Local hotel Whittlebury Hall provided the accommodation and in the evening, the drpteam had dinner and drinks at the British Racing Drivers Club.
