drp Team Complete 10k Walk in aid of Brain Tumour Charity
A few members of our team recently took part in the Warwick Twilight 10K Walk on the 8th October 2017, in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity. The charity has a personal connection to us, our colleague and friend Duncan Weaver sadly died last year, after a long battle with a brain tumour.
The Brain Tumour Charity is making a difference every day to the lives of people fighting brain tumours and their families. It funds pioneering research to increase survival rates, and continues to raise awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours. The Brain Tumour Charity’s ‘#WalkWithUs’ Twilight Walk is a chance for people to share experiences with those who understand, and to celebrate the lives of loved ones, as well as to raise money and awareness. The charity’s main aim is to double survival and halve the harm of brain tumours in the next 10 years.
Rosie Harper, Venue Co-ordinator at venuepot, commented, “The Brain Tumour Charity were a big support to Duncan, so we wanted to do something in Duncan’s memory to raise money for this charity. We thought that The Twilight Walk would be something different and good to work towards in raising money. It’s wonderful to have raised so much for the charity and we are extremely proud to have reached our target!”
In total, 20 of our drpteam took part in the Twilight Walk and completed it in 1 hour and 45 minutes. We have now reached our target of raising £1,600. A huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported throughout.
