drp Sponsors Charity ‘STRICTLY Worcestershire’’

drp is proud to have had the privilege to work with local charity The Strictly Worcestershire Project Partners, in their annual ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ event held at the Chateau Impney on the 27th May 2016. The charity dinner and dance competition extravaganza celebrated Worcestershire's finest business talent, whilst raising funds for two superb charities.

The Strictly Worcestershire Project Partners are a team of Worcestershire business people who actively increase awareness for the fight against breast cancer, whilst having a good time gathering money for a good cause. Established by organiser Gerard Smith, the event has raised more than £20,000 for cancer charities since it launched two years ago, and this year profits will be divided between Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign, and Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.

We knew it was an opportunity we could not refuse, with the chance to back an extremely important cause, and support our local people, and our home charities.

We provided project management, video content, staging, lighting, and production for the show, consisting of 8 couples who competed for the title ‘Strictly Worcestershire 2016’ in front of a 760-strong audience. Each couple performed two two minute ballroom category dances, and were judged by a special guest panel of judges as well as the audience.

Holly Andrews, Producer at drp comments, “Around 500 women and 100 men in Worcestershire are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. UK survival rates fall significantly behind most of Europe, and progress is dependent upon funding for continued research and new methods, equipment and facilities. At drp, being local to the charity, we knew it was an opportunity we could not refuse, with the chance to back an extremely important cause, and support our local people, and our home charities.”
