drp Hosts Interactive Open Day for Worcester University

On Friday 6th of January, 50 students from the Advanced Web Development course at Worcester University learned first-hand what life would be like post-graduation in a creative experience agency. After the recent launch of our new website (www.drpgroup.com) it was a great opportunity to show local young people what we do and how we do it.

Students were taken on a tour of our 4.2 acre complex, as well as given an interactive session from the drpteam, who presented an overview of their backgrounds, education and careers, and how this led to their current job roles at drp.

We have a long standing relationship with Worcester University, and we often make connections with students who have the potential to join our team in the future. There are a number of people within the drpteam who have graduated from Worcester University and we have a great rapport with students and lecturers alike.

All the students who attended the visit are coming to the end of their time at University and the opportunity to see how drp work will inspire many to pursue their career in the digital industry."

Ben Wallace, Director of drpdigital, said,

“Inviting students to the drpoffice is an exciting and tangible way for students to gain an insight into their possible careers post-graduation. It is not only a brilliant opportunity for the students, it also is a great chance for us to meet possible future team members and display our talents as the leading creative comms agency in Worcestershire and even the U.K.”

Sean Preston, Sessional Lecturer in Computing Worcester Business School at the university commented,

"We would like to thank drp for taking the time out of their busy day to share their individual experiences with our students during our visit to their impressive facility. All the students who attended the visit are coming to the end of their time at University and the opportunity to see how drp work will inspire many to pursue their career in the digital industry."

Over the past three years, drp has utilised apprentice schemes to source and employ new talent. Our apprenticeship schemes give young people from across the local area the opportunity to join from school or university and mould their skills into a specific role from the start. The process has proved to be extremely successful, as 80% of drp’s apprentices have stayed on in employment after completing their schemes.
