drp Hit the River for #PlasticPatrol Initiative

On Tuesday 7th August, a handful of the drpteam embarked on the Gloucester Docks to take part in the #PlasticPatrol Clean Up.

#PlasticPatrol is a nationwide campaign to rid our waterways of plastic pollution. The project was founded by Lizzie Carr, who has dedicated herself to exploring the UK on a paddle board, whilst using her journey to highlight and educate on environmental issues. The mission is to combat the global plastic crisis by stopping the problem at its source – in our waterways. The initiative is also about engaging with people and bringing the issue to the forefront.

Our team hit the docks on paddle boards, picking up pieces of litter that they encountered on their way. This would then be logged in the #PlasticPatrol app, keeping track of how much litter had been collected.

Suzie Blundell, Account Manager at drp commented: "The #PlasticPatrol campaign is working wonders to rid our waterways of plastic pollution, in which Lizzie has done a fantastic job in raising awareness and combatting this issue. The drpteam had a great time exploring the waterways and we’re already looking at future events in the area."
