Becky Cubitt, former Head of Scenic Resources at Royal Shakespeare Company, joined DRPG this autumn. Becky will lead the scenic department at our global HQ in the West Midlands.
With over 10 years’ experience in designing, planning, and delivering stage and scenic sets for creative and theatre productions, Becky’s passion for the stage began when she attended the National Youth Theatre Wales summer programme as a teenager. Discovering the amount of opportunities available in the operations behind the scenes, her career began through technical management roles within The National dance company of Wales and The Welsh National Opera, before relocating to the Midlands where she joined the RSC.
On her role, Becky said “It’s great to be leading a team with the same passion as me. From photoshoots to exhibitions, we enjoy the variety of projects that come through the workshops at DRPG and I’m thrilled to be in a commercial role where the wide-ranging projects from the varied sectors ensure that no day is the same."
“I had been following DRPG’s journey for a while, especially with its undefeatable consistency of services and solutions throughout the pandemic, but itwas the company’s longstanding commitment to sustainability that stood out. As a custodian for the ‘Theatre Green Book – Sustainable Productions’, positive environmental efforts in the creative sectors are important to me and I am looking to continue driving this forward in my new position.”
Adam Pardoe, Director of Group Production commented, “Our unique selling point has always been to be as fully integrated as we possibly can for our clients and the investment within our technical production services, team, equipment, and warehouse infrastructure has enabled us to grow our in-house Stage and Scenic Team. I am really excited to welcome Becky to the DRPG family. The team and her are already working closely with our event and exhibition leads to deliver innovative and creative solutions that are sustainable both in cost and for the environment.”
